Chinnakuyili lies in the outskirts of Coimbatore
City. It structures to the length & breadth - 3x4 Kms.
It has a population of Men - 1,500 and Women - 1,200 totally 2,700 mostly
engaged in agriculture of Cotton, Tobacco , vegetables and maize.
Most of the population are in Lower, Middle class people earning their living on daily wages.
Chinnakuyili is a minor Panchayat included in Kallappalayam major Panchayat,
with large source of income collected from the land taxes. Our village is also spelled as Chinnakuyil,
Chinnakuili, chinnakuilai and chinnakuil. However in government officies like Post office it is pronounced as
"Chinnakuyili". I have used this spelling in all the places.
Resources
In Chinnakuyili there is one spinning mill, many broiler forms meant for
meat to Coimbatore and other places. Wind speed here will be fast for throughout the year. Few private companies in
Coimbatore installed their wind mills in Chinnakuyili. Totally
there are around 40 - 50 wind mills are there.
School
In Chinnakuyili there is a primary school. The classes are there from
1st to 5th with medium of Tamil. I am proud to be a student of
this school.
Temple
In Chinnakuyili holy temples for lord Vinayaka , lord Mari Amman
, Lord Perumal and lord Kavi kaliamman are there. Lord
Vinayaka temple is situated in the entry point of the village. This
temple adds beauty to the village. Chinnakuyili bus stop is there near the lord
Vinayaka temple.
Festival
Every year in May-June month 3 days will be celebrated as Mari Amman
Festival. During this time entire village will turn up and celebrate the
festival and thanks the Lord Mari Amman for her kind blessings for development of our Agriculture and business.
Requirements
There is not enough facilities available in our village. Here there is no
primary health center, no private doctors to take care of people health in
Chinnakuyili. No commercial shops for purchasing daily requirements
except small shops. To get agriculture medicines and other items like
urea, DAP, we need to travel to near by places like Pappampatti or
Chettipalayam. There is no post office for sending mails. Only
a post box is available.People are finding difficulty in sending Mails.
Our deadly needs
We don't have enough street lights. we need to move with darkness in street during nights.
It is very danger because there is no proper drainage facilities. I am very sad to say that
our village Panchayat is very bad in administration and very badly involved in corruption.
Transport
There is one town bus available from Coimbatore. The bus is available
nine times in a day from Coimbatore. Bus Nos are : 108A
, 108 , 69B.
